A standing relationship with a faculty or college — usually law, philosophy, public policy, or a humanities programme. We send and receive readers, share seminars, and co-host one event a year.

Partnership at Stichting Grotius is structural, not transactional. We work with a small number of institutions across years — universities, employers, civic bodies — to send people through the work and to convene around it.
Forms of partnership
Three shapes the relationship takes.
Sending organisations
A company or public body that sends one or two people each year onto the Grotius Leadership Course. We invest in their participants; they invest the time and tuition.
Civic institutions
Foundations, libraries, museums, and learned societies whose work overlaps with ours. We share venues, speakers, and reading lists — rarely money. Always credited.
How a partnership begins
An honest first conversation.
The first step is a written note from the partnering institution describing the work they do and what they hope to do together. We reply within two weeks. If there is a real fit, we propose a 90-minute conversation in person.
From there, partnerships are formalised by a short, plain-English memorandum of understanding — usually two pages, signed by the chair on our side and a comparable figure on yours. We renew or step away at the end of each year.
