Henrique Schijns
- Social Media Manager
My name is Henrique Schijns, and if there is one thing that describes me, it is that I like to be where the action is — whether that is on the hockey pitch, in a team project, or simply working with people to get something done. I am a Management, Society & Technology student at the University of Twente with a special interest in public management and digital public services, creating innovations that deliver public value. Outside of my studies, I stay busy with sports, whether playing, refereeing, or watching, and with building projects with others that create impact.
Within Grotius, I served as Deputy Project Manager and co-host of the International Principled Leadership Conference 2026. Currently, I serve as Social Media Manager alongside Francisco. I joined because I wanted to be part of a community where leadership is not just about results and what happens at the top, but about character, the root of principled leadership — where people genuinely try to serve and support one another, leadership as lifelong learning, in every environment you find yourself in, whether professional, academic or personal.
Looking ahead, I would love to combine my studies with my passion for sport — football especially, since it reaches so many people. My goal is to help build something genuinely accessible, in the spirit of the Johan Cruyff Foundation’s Courts: sport as a tool for community and opportunity. Whether within an existing organisation or a new one, I want to combine sports administration with a visionary, entrepreneurial mindset, carrying Grotius’ values of service and integrity with me.
Formation that lasts a lifetime is only possible with those who make it possible.
